ST. GEORGE CAR CRASH & INJURY SETTLEMENTS FOR JUNE 2026

Every month at McMullin Injury Law, we resolve injury claims for people throughout St. George and Southern Utah. One of the most common questions we hear after a car accident or injury is, “How much is my case worth?”

The honest answer is that no two cases are exactly alike. The value of a personal injury claim depends on many different factors, including the severity of the injuries, the medical treatment required, available insurance coverage, liability, and how the injuries affect a person’s daily life.

To help illustrate that point, attorney Anthony McMullin recently shared the biggest and smallest injury settlements our firm resolved during June 2026. While these two cases had very different outcomes, they both demonstrate why every injury claim deserves careful attention and experienced legal guidance.

Largest Settlement of June 2026: $300,000 Rear-End Collision

The largest settlement our firm resolved during June involved what initially appeared to be a fairly typical rear-end collision at one of St. George’s busy intersections.

Rear-end accidents happen every day throughout Southern Utah, and many people assume they’re always “minor” crashes. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case.

In this collision, the impact was significant. Although our client did not suffer broken bones, they experienced serious soft tissue injuries that required several months of medical treatment and rehabilitation.

One important factor that influenced the outcome of this case was the conduct of the at-fault driver. At the scene, the driver admitted to being distracted behind the wheel. As the claim developed, additional aggravating circumstances also came to light, including a documented history of distracted driving and prior DUI-related incidents.

While every claim is evaluated on its own facts, details like these can become important during settlement negotiations. Insurance companies consider not only the injuries themselves but also the circumstances surrounding the collision and the available evidence.

Ultimately, this case resolved for $300,000, helping our client recover compensation after months of treatment and recovery.

Smallest Settlement of June 2026: $15,000 Dog Bite Claim

The smallest settlement our firm resolved during June involved a dog bite that occurred while a young man was visiting an acquaintance.

Without warning, he was attacked by an unprovoked pit bull and suffered multiple bite wounds. Although his medical bills were relatively modest, the attack left him with permanent scarring as well as the emotional trauma that often follows a frightening incident like this.

Unlike many personal injury claims, the value of this case wasn’t driven by extensive medical treatment. Instead, it reflected the lasting physical scars and the emotional impact of being unexpectedly attacked by a large dog.

The claim ultimately resolved for $15,000.

Even Smaller Injury Cases Deserve Attention

Many people assume that if they don’t have extensive medical bills, they don’t have a case. That’s not always true.

Personal injury claims are evaluated using many different factors, including permanent scarring, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and how an injury affects someone’s daily life. While this client’s physical injuries healed without extensive treatment, the lasting scar and emotional effects of the attack were still important parts of the claim.

What Determines the Value of a Personal Injury Case?

One of the biggest misconceptions about personal injury law is that similar accidents always produce similar settlements.

In reality, insurance companies evaluate each claim based on many different factors.

Some of the most important considerations include:

  • The severity of the injuries
  • The amount of medical treatment required
  • Current and future medical expenses
  • Lost wages or reduced earning capacity
  • Permanent scarring or disability
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional trauma
  • Available insurance coverage
  • Who was at fault for the accident

For example, two rear-end collisions may look nearly identical, yet one person may recover in a few weeks while another requires months of treatment. Likewise, a dog bite that heals quickly may still leave permanent scarring or emotional effects that deserve consideration.

This is why it’s impossible to accurately estimate the value of a claim based solely on the type of accident.

Every Injury Claim Deserves Individual Attention

These two June settlements highlight just how different personal injury cases can be.

One involved a serious rear-end collision caused by a distracted driver that resulted in months of treatment and a $300,000 resolution. The other involved a dog bite that healed relatively quickly but still left lasting physical and emotional effects, resulting in a $15,000 settlement.

Although the dollar amounts were very different, both clients deserved experienced representation and someone who could guide them through the insurance claims process.

At McMullin Injury Law, we believe every client deserves answers, honest advice, and an advocate who understands how insurance companies evaluate injury claims.
