ST. GEORGE INJURY CASE RESULTS: FEBRUARY 2026 SETTLEMENTS
Personal injury cases come in all shapes and sizes. In the month of February, our team at McMullin Injury Law resolved a wide range of cases for injured clients across Southern Utah. These cases included motor vehicle accidents, premises liability claims, and other injury-related incidents — each with its own unique facts and outcomes.
While every case is different, one thing remains the same: our goal is to help our clients recover physically, financially, and emotionally after an accident.
This month’s results are a clear example of how injury cases can vary significantly in both severity and value.
A Wide Range of Injury Cases in Southern Utah
Throughout February, our firm handled cases that ranged from relatively minor injuries to serious, life-altering incidents. Some involved motor vehicle collisions, while others occurred on unsafe property conditions.
These differences matter because the value of a personal injury case is based on several factors, including:
-
The severity of the injuries
-
The type and length of medical treatment required
-
The impact on a person’s daily life
-
Liability and insurance coverage available
Understanding how these factors come together helps explain why settlement amounts can vary so widely.
Smallest February Settlement: Washington City Car Accident
The smallest resolution our firm achieved in February came from a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Washington City.
In this case, our client was driving through an intersection with a green light when another vehicle attempted a left-hand turn directly in front of her. This resulted in a significant collision with substantial property damage.
Despite how serious the crash appeared, our client was fortunate to sustain only minor injuries. She was able to recover relatively quickly and did not require extensive medical treatment.
Because of the limited nature of her injuries and recovery, the case ultimately resolved for $5,000.
This case highlights an important point: even when a crash looks severe, the value of a case depends largely on the actual injuries and their long-term impact.
Largest February Settlement: Premises Liability Case
On the other end of the spectrum, the largest case resolved in February involved a premises liability claim — meaning the injury occurred on someone else’s property.
In this situation, our client was visiting a resort in Southern Utah when she fell while walking down a poorly lit staircase. The unsafe condition of the property created a dangerous environment that ultimately led to serious injuries.
Unlike the smaller motor vehicle case, this incident resulted in significant harm that required several surgeries. Our client required more extensive care, and the injuries had a greater impact on her daily life.
After working through the legal process and establishing liability, the case was resolved for $675,000.
Premises liability cases often involve different legal considerations than car accidents, including property maintenance standards, lighting conditions, and whether the property owner took reasonable steps to ensure safety.
What These Injury Cases Teach About Injury Claims
While these two cases had very different outcomes, they highlight an important reality about personal injury claims — the circumstances surrounding each accident matter just as much as the accident itself.
Even when liability is clear, the path to recovery can look very different depending on how an injury affects someone’s life. Some clients are able to recover quickly and move forward, while others face longer-term challenges that require more time, treatment, and support.
These cases also show that serious injuries don’t always come from the most obvious situations. A simple fall on unsafe property can lead to significant consequences, just as a major-looking crash can sometimes result in more minor injuries.
Understanding these differences is key to knowing what to expect after an accident and why having the right guidance can make a difference.
